These posts that are usually short written texts are about different topics; from literature and poetry to political and social matters. Tweets fly in seconds and those who are interested can share breaking news and run hot debates in a matter of seconds.

Common solutions to Twitter problems

  1. See if it is happening in a wide area:  check websites like the Down Detector to see if other people around the world or in your area of residency are facing the same issue as well. It might be a technical problem with Twitter that you must wait for it to solve. If that is the case, check for its news on the internet. When you finally make sure it is not only you, the best solution will probably be to wait.
  2. Check your internet connection: you might have forgotten to pay your bills. Your service provider may have issues. Check these things and try to load pages other than Twitter. If it is about your router, restarting it may address the issue.
  1. Restart your device: restarting a device fixes many small issues about it. Turn your device off and on again. Try to reach Twitter once more.
  2. Reinstall the application: this works just like restarting your device. Just ensure you have your password and attempt to do this.

  1. Clear your cache: every time you use an application, it leaves out a small bit of data in your mobile phone or PC. In the long run, it accumulates and builds up a huge amount of residue and causes trouble. The best way to clear the cache on iPhone is to uninstall and reinstall the application. How Does Twitter Work?

Twitter is one of the most popular media which has more than 300 million active users monthly. To stay updated, Twitter would change its algorithm consistently. So, to better use Twitter, it is essential to understand how does this algorithm has changed, or what would be the future of twitter algorithm. In this article, you read about the newest twitter algorithm and assumptions about its future.

How does twitter work?

There are a few rules that you should know about popular social media, including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook. They are almost similar in terms of keeping users active and show the relevant content to them. Twitter is one of the best platforms for all users to make money. For example, they can build an online store and share it on their Twitter bio. The more you perform better on Twitter, the more you can get followers and make money.

There are a few crucial factors on every social media. Twitter works based on:

1. Interests

What information you enter in your bio or any actions matter on twitter. For example, if you one person with a specific profile, twitter gets the signal that you might be interested in the same profiles. So, it would suggest similar profiles. If you would follow them, this will continue, and you would have a circle of following with almost similar interests, work, or professional profiles.

2. Relevance

The above explanation is correct for the topic you follow. If you are following the news related accounts, who follows you almost have the same interests as you. So, if you want to have a clear and favorite account, you should be very careful about what actions you do on twitter.

3. Consistency

Consistency is essential for other social media, including Facebook and Instagram. But what exactly is this consistency? There is indeed no exact number of times to post on twitter, but how you call a person active on twitter? If they publish daily? Hourly? Twice a day or three times a day?

Personally, if a person posts three tweets per day, I call them active. It seems that other articles also have the same opinion, and post daily is a must to be active on this platform.  And the more important it is to keep this sequence. If you are publishing every day, keep it and try to post every day. You can also use the Twitter scheduler to post in advance. This would help keep your presence on twitter.

Twitter timeline algorithm

If you are one of the active Twitter users, so you need to know how does twitter works and to know the twitter timeline algorithm. It would help to use the app better and also if you want people to see you most often. Here I will bring a brief story of the previous twitter algorithm because it helps you to understand the current one better.

In 2006, the Twitter timeline was a simple application founded by Jack Dorsey founded, and with some character limits and twits publishing in chronological order. Each user could see the twits from followers on the most recent one. In 2014, Twitter added recommendations, topics, and twitter accounts bar to its timeline. A year later, the phobia of missing content caused the creating the ICYMI (in case you missed it), which could help users to read published twits in case there were not online and could not see that, under the “while you were away” on top of users’ timeline. A few years later, Twitter changed its algorithm again, and the best twits came to the front to show the most favorable twits from people.

And now, in 2019, the twitter timeline algorithm is about both types of posts. Now users can switch between both recent posts and the most favorable one. However, this option is available on the mobile app, and if you tap the star icon on the top right corner. You see the” see latest twits instead,” and other options are “go back home.”

And there is another option just beside the posts that users can tap on that to see those posts less often.

As Twitter has announced, they are now collaborating with researchers at the University of Berkely to have some changes shortly. Jack Dorsey in his comments about twits tells that Twitter is a real-time media. It seems that they have focused on live trends all around the globe, instead of making Twitter a passive application. That is why most twitted posts should come first, and if you don’t like it, you have to change the setting as you want.

There are some debates about the content which twitter show to the people. For example, seeing retweets from people you follow, but the main content is from a person who is not in your follower’s list. Another discussion is about paid content, in which you may don’t like to see. These are all about twitter algorithm and their preference about what they want to people mind. In the most recent changes, Twitter has begun demonstrating tweets from who your friends are following. Twitter is putting these posts into the feed of users without permission from clients.

As Twitter said, its goal is to expose users with more relevant content, which they might be interested in that content. However, it can be useful in some cases, such as being involved in football and seeing twits from people whose users are not following. But what about the unwanted content?  For example, a harsh political sentence, or whatsoever. There some crucially important content, and shouldn’t people distributed them without considering its credibility. It means that not all the material has the same value to be published wherever they are related. Take medicine courses as an example: what if an untrue content about the vaccine or any other treatment handed over by users? Should twitter algorithm change to omit harmful content that might have a detrimental effect on society?

Spreading unwanted content is a matter of debate for all other social media too. For example, Instagram is preventing the sharing of pictures that might be sensitive to people. There is an alarm icon on the image that shows it is sensitive content. You can choose to watch or skip watching that. It might be easier to prevent unwanted pictures from distributing, but how about content?

The future of Twitter timeline algorithm

As a Twitter spokesperson said in a CNN interview, their team is working on publishing the wanted and relevant content. There would be a choice for people to see the content from people they follow only. Following the health of conversation is the main focus of the company in the coming year.

Jack Dorsey’s conversation with CNN shows that they are questioning everything, and they need some more considerations about twitter. Politics twitter is something that is broken about twitter because there is a lot of empowering conversation. He is considering to address this issue to remove the harmful content from Twitter. He is saying that 12 years ago, when they started the company, issues were small.

Jack Dorsey conversation about the near future of Twitter

Conclusion

The newest twitter algorithm gives the users two choices about top twits or seeing the latest one. However, there are other issues about the type of content you want to read. False information, harassment, and all the problems are getting out of Twitter. Twitter is a place for open conversation, but As Jack Dorsey discussed, the future of Twitter algorithm would be about the health of discussions instead of false ones, fraud, and so on. What matters most is going to be twitter’s next step.

4 practical ways To Make Money On Twitter

When you search for “how to make money online” in Google, several results come up. You may get confused since there is a broad range of ideas and tips on how to earn money in online environments. Let’s narrow it down to Twitter as a money-making platform.

Twitter is a popular social networking platform used by businesses and individuals to send short messages to their followers. Before starting to monetize your Twitter account, check if your business or field of activity is a candidate for this platform. Then begin your job by having an appealing bio description, profile photo, well-defined niche or niches, and a large follower count just like other social networks. Engagement on your tweets is also very important because you are more likely to sell your items or services or receive advertisement requests from businesses or brands if you have consistent likes, comments, retweets, and, in short, a quality presence.

Can you make money off Twitter?

Yes, you can make money on tweeter if you a lot of followers. The more you have fans, the more you can earn money. However, it is said that to make money on social media, you should have more than 10K followers. But if you don’t have, you still can start from a few followers.

How much does twitter pay celebrities? It depends on the account and the number of followers. Twitter influencers can earn money up to S10,000, per tweet. For example, Frankie Muniz, by the handle of @frankiemuniz, who has more than 175K followers, earn about 13,000 per tweet.

Afterward, you can start your money-making journey on Twitter by taking smart steps gradually. Your strategy depends on whether you want to sell your own products or services or be an affiliate marketer or use your account as a traffic generator to your main website. See the below overview to figure out what you need to do.

  • Sell your products or services

Making a website was a challenge previously, but now, you can create your online brochure using iLink iStore. So, if you can prepare your products, make an online brochure, and share it on Twitter. When users are visiting your website, they will click on the link, and they may become your potential customers.

All you need to do is going to the iLink website, sign up, and add your products. Then, copy the URL and paste in the twitter website section.

To add your online store on Twitter:

  • Go to iLink
  • Follow the instruction to sign up
  • Select Create an online store, or I have products
  • Follow the on-screen instruction
  • From the dashboard add your products using pictures and details
  • Copy the unique URL and paste in the Twitter bio

You can make self-promotional tweets to encourage potential customers to buy from you and increase your visibility day by day. But do not forget to include other types of tweets from time to time to humanize your profile and avoid driving your followers away. Post tweets that aim to encourage, entertain or inspire your audience from time to time in order to keep them interested and give them a reason to listen. Make sure your timeline conveys your business and product expertise while still being helpful to your followers.

As an example, I can mention some people who use their Twitter account to get more bids for their handmade stuff available on eBay and Etsy. They broadcast their product by making use of the relevant link along with best-suited hashtags and a short description of the craft in a tweet to direct their fan to the page on eBay and Etsy and generate more leads.

Another example is when someone owns a website, offers a service or product and uses Twitter as a traffic generation tool. The link can be used both in Twitter bio and in tweets. Given Twitter’s high domain authority, every click on their website link contributes to the higher rank in Google’s search results page. What is more, they increase the chances of making sales and finding more prospects.

It is also to your advantage to ask influencers who are interested or expert in your field of activity to put your name out there and so maximize your online reach.

  • Make money with affiliate marketing

You should put a lot of time and effort if you aspire to be a successful affiliate marketer. It can be very profitable if you choose the right niche and have already reached a good engagement on your account.

In case you don’t know what affiliate marketing is, I can explain it to you in simple terms. It is sharing the link of a particular product or service of a certain vendor that fits your niche and get a part of the revenue generated if someone clicks on the link and purchase that product or service. This link is specific to you only and easily trackable.

You can use it only if your account is more than 60 days old and you have at least 50 followers and 100 tweets. You as a tweeter can set your price as you want, participate in a competition to attract your desired advertisers and earn money if you win.

  • Adly

Ad.ly also pays you if you send out tweets on behalf of brands. Advertise will see your profile and they may choose you to publicize a particular campaign and pay you if you agree to tweet it out based on a pre-determined schedule. You need to showcase your interests to attract brands that you love.

Wrap it up

With regards to the above-mentioned ways on how to make money on Twitter, keep in mind that you might not get the desired results in a few months. Do not give up, always appreciate your efforts and celebrate small wins. Besides, do not rely exclusively on Twitter. Although Twitter is an amazing platform to make money, it is not the only one. 8 Unwritten Twitter Rules you May not Be Following

Every social media has its own rules and regulations, and Twitter is no exception. You need to adhere to these rules if social media is a part of your business strategy. Otherwise, you may be driving followers away, and all that’s left is the wondering.

There are some unwritten Twitter rules that come into existence as a result of the way its users share contents or interact with each other in it. Below overview will shed light on some of these rules to help you share and connect more confidently on Twitter.

  • Keep your followers-followings list realistic

When users come into your profile, they notice the number of your followers and followings. Note that it’s not natural if you have a followers count the same as your followings. People might think that you are either a robot or obsessive about keeping them the same.

What is more, it’s not OK if the number of your twitter followings is more than fifth as many as your followers, especially if you are a business. Users may suppose you are desperate to get others to follow you, and you won’t look professional to them.

  • Don’t be overfamiliar

Although on Twitter, you are free Tweeting at celebrities, friends of friends, or any verified persona, it doesn’t mean they should respond to you every single time. Sometimes they don’t even bother reading or seeing your Tweet let alone replying.

Do not fool yourself into having a close friendship that doesn’t exist. Be cautious when you want to send a message to someone and think more about the contents and the tone of your texts.

  • Be respectful

You can never rule out social care and reciprocity. Be approachable when users want to reach out to you. Respond to their DMs, especially queries if you are a brand. Moreover, it’s not moral to respond publicly if they sent you a private message.

Another thing that shows a lack of respect is when you unfollow someone right after they followed you back. It’s just a mean and unfair way for gaining followers and will not work for you in the long run.

The last point in terms of showing respect is about your real-life friends or colleagues. Do not give them the cold shoulder and follow them back instantly.

  • Avoid snitch-tagging

Snitch-tagging may not seem a well-known word to you. I can explain it to you in simple terms, but first, you should know the meaning of subtweeting. It is making a Tweet that talks about an individual without directly mentioning them. Subtweeting can be fun, can be mean, can be annoying, can be risky. Seems ironic. Doesn’t it?

Snitch-tagging is tagging the person who is being addressed explicitly in a subtweet to notify and alert them that someone is talking behind their back. Be aware that when you blow the whistle on the subtweeter, problems might arise under certain conditions both for them and the target. And I’m sure you don’t want to be the trouble maker.

  • Don’t misuse hashtags

Hashtags help categorize your contents and be easily discoverable. While they are undoubtedly useful and can be included anywhere in a Tweet, it’s not wise to stuff your Tweets with them. Since character count matters, it’s considered good practice not to use more than two hashtags in a single Tweet.

Below you can find some tips about using hashtags:

  • Use capital letters at the beginning of each word to make your hashtags more readable. For instance, #SocialMediaMarketing or #TwitterRules.
  • Use hashtags relevant to your Tweet as well as branded or trending ones.
  • Save more valuable character space in your Tweet by avoiding to use words that are already mentioned in the text of your Tweet.
  • In addition to a web link and details about yourself, you can include one or two hashtags in your Twitter bio to attract more followers or showcase your field of activity or your niche.
  • Don’t steal others’ well-established hashtags.
  • Don’t Tweet all the time

It surely bugs people if you’re tweeting unceasingly or oversharing. Give others the chance to reflect on your Tweet and have their say. It’s also to your own advantage for you have more time to read others’ replies or messages or surf Twitter. Do not sacrifice quality for quantity.

  • Never retweet your own Tweet

Some people mistakenly think that they can encourage others to retweet their Tweets if they do it for themselves too. Do not behave like a desperate attention seeker by retweeting your own Tweet.

  • Don’t self-promote too much

Bombarding people with Tweets about your brand sounds like an awkward idea to spark your audience’s interest. Change your mindset, act more like a human, and add more non-promotional interesting Tweets to your page to attract new fans, and retain your current followers. And besides, people will engage with you more eagerly. Can you think of other unofficial rules on how to use Twitter? Feel free to share them with us.

Twitter Co-founder Ev Williams is Leaving the Company’s Board

The Co-founder and former CEO of Twitter, Ev Williams is leaving the company’s board, according to a Friday filing with the Exchange and Securities Commission.

It’s been an incredible 13 years, and I’m proud of what Twitter has accomplished during my time with the company,” Williams announced in a statement.

“I will continue rooting for the team as I focus my time on other projects.”

He took over the CEO position from founder Jack Dorsey in 2008 before ceding that position to Dick Costolo in 2010. He left the company in 2011, and Mr. Dorsey ultimately reclaimed the CEO role in 2015.

Over these few months, Mr. Williams has been drastically reducing his stake in the Twitter company. He held about 14.6 million shares of the company as of December, down from 29 million last April.

Ev Williams is currently the CEO of Medium, a tech company that enables writers to publish long-form articles. Medium recently got famous as the venue where Jeff Bezos posted his reply to claimed threats from the National Enquirer to share specific pictures of him.

Twitter’s board of executives includes Bret Taylor,  president, and product officer at Salesforce; executive chairman Omid Kordestani and Debra Lee,  president, and CEO of BET Networks. Twitter’s stock closed up 3% Friday, exchanging at nearly $32 a piece for a market cap of the north of $24 billion.

That’s it, guys. What do you think about these sudden changes in twitter? What is happening to the world of social media?

Twitter Bug Makes it Look Like Random Retweets are Appearing in your Timeline

Some Twitter users have been complaining that tweets that were retweeted by users they don’t follow are now displaying in their timeline. The issue, thankfully, is not related to a new Twitter algorithm, as some had worried. Instead, the company said that a bug affecting Android users was mislabeling the “social proof” tag on Retweets.

This is the section of the Retweet that tells you who, among the users you already follow, had retweeted your post in question.

The company said that the social proof label is wrong, so the Android users were observing tweets that looked like they had been retweeted by people they don’t know.

Twitter states the Retweets that showed up were actually tweeted by users the people knew, but their social proof label was wrong, which made them look out of place. The designers of Twitter are aware of the query and are working to fix this now. The bug has been on for a few days, Twitter also confirmed.

The company’s @TwitterSupport account had not yet replied to people asking about this issue, which may have caused some user confusion. After all, Twitter has been known to put what some consider irrelevant information in the timeline — like posts that show you when many users you follow have now all followed another Twitter user or posts that show you that some people have shared the same link, for instance. But even in those cases, that was in-network action — not something like placing random retweets in your main feed.

Until the bug is fixed, Twitter users who don’t like the seemingly random retweets can tap on down arrow to tell Twitter they want to see less content like this.

How to Respond to a Negative Twitter Reply or Feedback

One primary reason why brands are unwilling to use Twitter is because of negative customer feedback. More and more often customers are using Twitter as a forum to place customer service complaints, making brands wary of joining what seems like a black hole of customer complaints.

While not all tweets that get on your way will be negative, there is a benefit to having your brand on Twitter: you have control over turning negative feedback into positive ones. Negative feedback will be present on Twitter whether you have a twitter account or not. You can’t control what’s being said about you, but you do have control over your answers to unhappy customers. Here are many ways that you can deal with negative feedback on Twitter.

  • Kill them with humor and kindness

Last week, ThinkGeek had a typo in an email they sent out to their loyal customers. They had a lot of Twitter followers point out this typo through Twitter. Instead of ignoring the typo or getting disturbed at the hundreds of finger-pointing tweets, ThinkGeek responded with funny tweets to their followers. One example:

Can’t you just see those ThinkGeek monkeys wailing because of their typo? Makes me smile every time.”

  • Be honest

Southwest Airlines was having a problem with their website, getting many angry tweets from exhausted customers. Instead of replying with the general customer support tweet, Southwest Airlines responded with a genuine apology and honest answer. It’s hard to stay mad at someone who is willing to empathize with your pain.

  • Give them a solution

A Gap client was unsatisfied with the quality of one of her purchases. The company was proactive in reaching out to the customer to suggest that she return the product. Instead of being afraid of negative feedback on Twitter, embrace the chance to change negative customer experiences. Reach out to angry customers, frustrated clients or out to make you look like a fool. The more honesty and empathy you share with your customers, the more they will appreciate the experience you create for them.

Everything about Twitter Limits

Twitter has set different limits on user activities to decrease the load on their services, as well as reduce the possibility of spammy behavior.

These limits are based on a combination of factors like how old your account is, the speed at which you follow/unfollow, the third-party applications you use for your Twitter account and also if you are using the native Twitter app less frequently.

Some notable updates:

  • January 6, 2012: Added lists and unfollow limits.
  • January 6, 2013: Added biography character limit & Picture sizes.
  • May 31, 2013: Twitter updates the number of Twitter lists you can have and the number of users you can follow in each list.
  • August 12, 2015: Twitter now lets you send direct messages with up to 10,000 characters. The threshold used to be 140 (similar to standard tweets).
  • October 28, 2015: Twitter has raised their follow limit from 2,000 to 5,000.
  • October 2016: links, Media attachments, and screen names in replies no longer count in the 140character limit.
  • May 2017: Updated number of daily direct messages from 250 to 1,000
  • November 2017: The number of characters in a Tweet has been raised from 140 to 280.

The Follow limit on Twitter

You may be new to Twitter, or you may have been using the platform for a long time and hit the “2000” limit, which Twitter increased to 5,000. Most social media platforms have limits in place for the number of users you can “follow” or “friend.” For instance, Google+ currently has a limit of 5,000 users you can have in your circles, and you have a limit of 5,000 “friends” on Facebook. This is to stop individuals, brands or automated applications from abusing the system.

On Twitter, it was possible to bulk follow thousands and thousands of users in the hope that they would follow you back. This caused many accounts to abuse this and follow a lot of people while not generating engaging content and not having many users to follow them back.

Not good!

Twitter launched back in March 2006. But it wasn’t until August 2008 that it began imposing limits on the number of users you could follow. Twitter was facing big problems with spam (as Twitter co-founder blogged at the time). There was a lot of backlash at the time, and a lot of confusion. It’s generally assumed that Twitter introduced a 2,000 following limit, which means you could only follow up to 2,000 users. But, this isn’t strictly true.

The Following Ratio

According to researches, the magic number is 1,819! This means if you have 1,819 followers you may break through the 2,000 limits. Below 1,819 you are capped at following 2,000 users.

I haven’t examined this, but I’m not sure that the same policy will be used for this new limit. To break through the limit, you’ll have to get more than 4545 users following you before you can go through the 5,000 limits. Let me know what you think!

Unfollow limits on Twitter

So, how many users can you unfollow? This is a difficult question since Twitter doesn’t say.

It’s possible to bulk unfollow using automation tools, but you have to click on each user manually, and then click unfollow.

Yes, various javascript hacks are using Google Chrome, but to be honest, you should stay away from this because it’s likely to get you banned.

So, use your common sense. I’ve unfollowed over 600 people in one day, but that was a one-off- I wanted to unclutter my feed, but if I unfollowed 600 people each day I’d get banned.

So, there you go. Remember, Twitter is a social network platform- these limits are for our protection. Do you think these limits are suitable, or do you think they should be changed? Let me know in the comments below.

How to Get Verified on Twitter and Get the Blue Badge?

One of the most significant forms of social media currency is a verification badge on top platforms like Twitter and Instagram. Though both are administered by different social media entities, the similarities as far as successfully being verified are very related. For those who don’t know, a blue verified logo on Twitter shows that an account is authentic. A Twitter badge is always placed next to the username and can only be applied by Twitter.

Usually, verified Twitter accounts are celebrities or brands in the fields of fashion, music, acting, politics, government, religion, journalism, sports, media, business, and other key interest areas. If your brand can make use of the blue check mark, here’s a step by step guide on how to get verified on Twitter:

Step 1: Fill out the Verification Request Form on Twitter

First, you should fill the twitter’s verification request form to start the process of getting verified on twitter. Remember that you have to be logged into your target twitter account to fill the form.

For your Twitter account to be considered for verification, you should have the following elements presented on your profile:

  • Verified phone number: This will help you confirm your identity and connect your target audience to your office entity.
  • Confirmed email address: if your twitter account belongs to your business or organization, the email address associated with your account should be an organization or company email address (i.e., info@yourwebsite.com).
  • Profile picture: if you already have a strong presence on another social media platform (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) make sure they all have the same profile picture. In platforms like Instagram, they grab relevant information from other social media platforms to make a verification decision.
  • Header picture: When it comes to brand verification, Twitter accepts those who complete their profile in the highest level. An incomplete profile will decrease your chances of getting the badge on twitter, even if you fit all other verification inquiries.
  • Your birthdate: This only includes individual accounts. You can choose whether to display this information on your profile or not. Similar to your phone number, this just helps you confirm your identity.
  • Your website: if you are a brand or a public figure, you really need to have a site. Twitter won’t think of you as a professional if you don’t have one.
  • Public twitter account: You can’t be considered as a public figure if your tweets are private!

Once you make sure that your profile is fully set up with all required information, you will be asked to enter your username. Also, if you are trying to have your business account verified, remember to check the box at the bottom left of your screen to indicate this.

Step 2: Fill in The Missing Requirements

If you still haven’t filled out the information required (as I mentioned above), you’ll be prompted to do so. You will know right away if this is the case with your profile information, as Twitter will display a message that says “Account Not Eligible for Review” if you lack anything important mentioned above. You will have the opportunity to fill the missing parts to submit yourself for Twitter verification.

How to increase your chances of getting verified on twitter?

Here are a few additional tips that will help you get verified on Twitter:

  1. If you’re trying to get your personal account verified, your account name should reflect your real or stage name. Similarly, if your account is about your brand, it should indicate the actual name of your brand.
  2. Your profile and header picture should reflect you or your company’s branding. If you’re trying to verify your personal account, make sure to use a profile picture that matches other social media profiles. If you’re trying to verify your business account, you should use your logo, and include other elements of branding (like color theme) into your cover picture.
  3. Your bio should define your skills or your brand mission. If you’re just starting out, use these tips to optimize your Twitter bio.
  4. Make sure that you are active on Twitter. The platform rolled out the verification feature to help people find authentic, high-quality accounts to follow. If you aren’t tweeting on a regular basis, you won’t let twitter reach this goal, and they won’t recommend you for verification.
  5. Use professional pictures. Having a consistent brand photo will make your account more recognizable, and will help twitter confirm your identity.
  6. Try to be precise with your location, especially if you own a local business. This is how Twitter connects you to people nearby.

Step 3: Enter Websites as References

The next step for getting verified on twitter is entering up to five websites that can be used to identify you and associate you with your Twitter account. As you have listed your site in your profile, you don’t have to enter that again.

It would be a better use of space to enter additional websites that are considered proof of your public influence. Such as high-traffic websites or instances of appearances in the news sites.

Step 4: Explain why you should be Verified

At this point in the platform, Twitter will provide a section where you should make a case for why you should be verified on Twitter. If you are applying as an individual, explain your impact. Display your public reach, as well as examples about where you have made waves in your community. For brands and companies, you should highlight your mission and what you have been trying to achieve.

You only have 500 characters to use, so don’t overthink and just write something down. In general, just focus on mentioning the ways that you or your company adds value to the twitter community.

Step 5: Submit your verification request

Once you have confirmed the validity of your information, all you should do is wait. Twitter will email you as soon as they make the decision. Also, you will know that you have been verified once the @verified Twitter account follows you.

If your request is declined the first time around, don’t worry, you can apply again after a month. And if you get verified, remember that verified accounts which do not follow the Twitter terms and conditions can have their verified badge revoked.

Conclusion

Before this, the twitter verification process was complicated. Now, the platform lets you request verification, all you need to do is to make sure that you have prepared all the requirements before applying. A strong online presence can be helpful, even if you don’t have many followers on twitter just yet.

The Best Twitter Memes of 2018

If you feel like there is only bad news on social media and it bums you out, you are not alone. Especially, going on twitter can be really overwhelming, with constant drama, argument and snitch tagging. Memes are the only thing holding social media together at this point. Its been a stressful year so far, but at least we have these funny memes! Let’s take a walk down the memory (or should I say meme-ory!) lane If you like.

1- Eating tide pods

The Tide Pod eating craze started in 2017, but its effects remained well into 2018. The forbidden meals will always have a place in our hearts for the endless memes and cursed foods it inspired.

2- What your child is really texting about?

It looks like texting lingo will always be a mystery to the parents. Luckily, a useful guide to common acronyms became a meme. What are your children texting about? Apparently Olive Garden.

3- Change my mind

Sometimes you see a meme that makes you think there is still hope for humanity. When a conservative expert troll set up a table encouraging people to change his mind about “male privilege,” Twitter got to work and transformed him into a meme. It became a platform to share your real opinions, from putting pineapple on pizza to the plot of Bee Movie.

4- American Chopper hot takes

American Chopper came back this year, helping Twitter to bring back an iconic scene from the original show. The unfavorable father-son duo became a meme for the hottest takes.

5- Build your perfect man

Is there even a perfect man alive? This meme encourages women to build their ideal man. There is only one catch, and you have limited choices. Maybe you will just settle for Paul wisely. LOL

6- Who killed Hannibal?

The “who killed Hannibal” meme is perfect for when you have done something awful and want to shift to blame it to someone else. Some people just refuse to be responsible like Eric Andre in his show!

7- Is this a pigeon?

This picture has been on internet since 2011, but the blow up in 2018 to convey total confusion.

8- Imagine your best life, ladies

A Twitter movement reversed a romanticized version of provincial life by asking ladies about their most ideal life. The meme covers it all, from the plot of Bee Movie to imagining a marriage with Stuart Little.

9- Laurel or Yanny?

The audio illusion tore apart the twitter, with friends turning against each other over whether a recording said: “Laurel” or “Yanny.”It was fun until the Trump administration jumped on and destroyed the meme forever. RIP.

10- By age of 35

By the age of 35, there is no need to have your life figured out. The meme works off a report by Marketwatch telling people that by the age of 35, they should have twice their payroll saved. Twice. Who even has the time for that??

11- I am: straight/gay/bi

The straight/gay/bi meme has it all: nods to classic Vines, pop-punk lyrics and punching fun at tired gender sexuality labels and binaries.

12- Distressed LeBron

Poor LeBron. His reaction after the Cavaliers lost to the Golden State Warriors turned to an iconic meme for, how can I say, when you are so stressed for words.

13- Melania’s awful jacket

Dear Melania, what are you up to? The First Lady wore the worst possible coat for a visit to meet kept immigrant children at the US border. Was she messing with the social media? Was she trolling her husband? Either way, the awful Zara jacket will presumably be recognized as one of the memes defining this presidency.

14- Alexa, play Despacito

This is a nice shitpost. Recollective of the world’s smallest violin meme, “Alexa, play Despacito” is the excellent reaction for overdramatic. Why is this so funny? It is not just about the situation, but telling Alexa to play Despacito is a perfect sign of not feeling anything. It’s art guys.

15- Wholesome memes

People had a knack for seeing the good in anything, and as dark as 2018 was, the wave of wholesome memes brought us a little hope.

16- Selfie kid from the super bowl

Ok, guys, I laughed a lot with this meme on February. I can’t stand it anymore. But seriously, who is Justin Timberlake?

17- The buff Kim Kardashian

You should send this meme to all “gym” selfie guys! What’s up with that? Just go to gym Kim! Go!

18- Left exit 12 off ramp/highway exit meme

This is so true! Have you seen those vague cries online? I should we all should take the right exit.

19- When the wrong song comes up

This is something we all can relate to. Who doesn’t like shower karaokes?

20- Meryl streep at the Oscars looking like fairy godmother from Shrek

I really think celebrities are watching too much animations. Or their stylists at least! This just can’t be an accident!

That’s it for now guys. I will get back to you as soon as I find something trendy for this year. Comment us below if you have a funnier meme on your mind.

Twitter Bio Ideas to Get more Followers

Twitter Bio Ideas to Get more FollowersAfter wondering a lot between a lot of twitter bio ideas, I found one that actually worked for me. Or at least, my followers loved it when I changed my twitter bio.In this article, I will show you how to nail you twitter bio to get some eyes on you and make yourself unforgettable.

1-   Use keywords

The best twitter bios contain industry targeted keywords. Identify your top keywords and use them organically. You should think about what your audience is going to search and then include those words as keywords in your bio to be more transparent.

Instead of using general hashtags like #blogging and #social media in your bio, just tell them about what you do. Don’t make them figure it out by themselves.

Keywords are useful for people who are trying to build a twitter following.

2-   Embrace the space

A good bio is a combination of professional and personal information. Share something that will connect you to your follower.

The hardest thing about writing a good Twitter bio is fitting all your information into 164 characters. But you should remember that you will rarely write the perfect Twitter bio the first time. So keep trying. For instance, my current bio has gone through at least 15 re-writes.

3-   Mention what you do or believe in

Use your twitter bio to inform people of what you do or what you believe in and are passionate about!Instead of telling us about your work, tell us about what you do. You can save some time for people by writing your skills as brief as possible. This will make you different from others in your industry. Richard Branson has nailed it in this case.

4-   Include the name of your employer

If your Twitter bio has your employer’s twitter handle, you will appear in the search results when people search for the brand or business on the twitter. This way people can send you a personal note just in case, they need some help or have a particular question about your work.

5-   Avoid meaningless buzzwords

Every professional uses buzzwords these days, but your customers don’t. You can never stand out by using the same old ways.

  • Marketing expert (guru)
  • Growth hacker
  • Networking Ninja!
  • Entrepreneur
  • Hustler or something like that!

Let me tell you something; these buzzwords are cute. But they are too old to use, get rid of them. Because everyone is using them these days, you should be unique, not another one of those. I am sure that you can come up with something much more better!

6-   Use humor

A little humor is always helpful if you want to be remembered by other people. Yes, people will never forget the funny ones, ain’t true? So don’t waste the opportunity to let your personality shine, on Twitter at least! Humor shows that you have take some time to write a good bio, do it like a pro, just like tom hanks here!

7-   Add social proof

What are your greatest achievement and accomplishments?

Mention some of your significant awards and recognition in your Twitter bio. This social proof can be great start for your conversion. You can write about your successes, your awards, books you have written, lists you have been in, etc.

Wrapping up

Your bio is your best opportunity to catch some eyes and get new followers on twitter, don’t waste it. It is the first thing people see when they are deciding whether to follow you or not.

So have in mind that you only have 160 characters to get their attention.

Try to be creative and leave us a comment that no one has ever did!
